DayMarshal
DayMarshal for Zoom
Last updated: 18 July 2026
DayMarshal sends a visible participant named DayMarshal Notetaker to a Zoom meeting only when you ask it to. After the meeting, DayMarshal turns the transcript into a summary, decisions, commitments, risks, and tasks. It does not list, create, edit, or delete your Zoom meetings, and it does not access Zoom cloud recordings.
In this guide
Before you begin
- An active DayMarshal account and access to a DayMarshal workspace. Public DayMarshal registration is not available; access is provided by invitation.
- A Zoom account permitted to authorize Marketplace apps. Your Zoom administrator may need to pre-approve DayMarshal.
- A valid Zoom meeting link and permission to invite a recording notetaker.
- Any participant notice or consent required by applicable law and your organization’s policies.
- If the meeting uses a waiting room, someone must admit DayMarshal Notetaker.
Connect and authorize Zoom
- Sign in to your DayMarshal account.
- Open Integrations.
- Under Meeting notetaker, select Connect Zoom. This starts Zoom’s installation and authorization flow directly.
- Sign in to the Zoom account that the notetaker should represent.
- Review Zoom’s authorization screen and approve the two requested permissions.
- Zoom returns you to DayMarshal’s Integrations page. Confirm that the card says Zoom connected.
DayMarshal is distributed as an unlisted Zoom app, so it is not intended to be found through public Marketplace search. If you receive DayMarshal’s private Marketplace link, its Visit Site to Add action returns you to DayMarshal to begin the same connection flow. You do not need to visit the Marketplace listing before selecting Connect Zoom.
Each DayMarshal member connects their own Zoom identity. The connection is personal to that member and is not shared with other members of the DayMarshal workspace. A Zoom administrator may still need to approve the unlisted app before a member can authorize it.
Zoom permissions and why they are required
DayMarshal requests only the following two user-level permissions:
| Zoom scope | How DayMarshal uses it |
|---|---|
user:read:user |
Identifies the Zoom user who authorized DayMarshal so the visible notetaker can be attributed to the correct person. |
user:read:token |
Allows the notetaker service to obtain the short-lived On-Behalf-Of token required for that attributed join. |
These permissions do not allow DayMarshal to manage meetings, webinars, recordings, or Zoom account settings. DayMarshal does not request meeting-management, recording, webinar, or administrator scopes.
Send the notetaker to a Zoom meeting
Join a meeting now
- Join the Zoom meeting using the same Zoom account you connected to DayMarshal. Zoom requires the represented user to be present before the attributed notetaker can join.
- In DayMarshal, open Meetings.
- In Send a notetaker, paste the full Zoom meeting link and optionally add a title.
- Tell the participants that DayMarshal will record and transcribe the meeting, and obtain consent where required.
- Select Join now.
- In Zoom, admit the visible participant named DayMarshal Notetaker if the meeting uses a waiting room.
- When the meeting ends, DayMarshal processes the transcript and displays the summary, decisions, commitments, risks, and extracted tasks on the meeting page.
Use an upcoming calendar event
- Optionally connect one or more Google Calendar accounts from Integrations and select the read-only calendars you want DayMarshal to show.
- Open Meetings, find the upcoming Zoom event, and select Send notetaker.
- Join the meeting with your connected Zoom account and admit the notetaker if necessary.
The notetaker remains visible in the participant list and may be removed by meeting participants. It leaves when the represented Zoom user leaves. Google Meet and Microsoft Teams notetakers do not use your Zoom authorization.
Recording and data handling
- DayMarshal passes Zoom’s one-time authorization code to its meeting-notetaker provider, Attendee. Attendee exchanges and securely stores the Zoom access credentials.
- DayMarshal stores only Attendee’s opaque connection identifier and the associated Zoom user identifier; it does not store your Zoom password or Zoom OAuth tokens.
- The notetaker provider temporarily processes meeting audio to create the transcript. After DayMarshal retrieves the transcript, it instructs the provider to delete the provider-side recording.
- DayMarshal retains the transcript, summary, and extracted intelligence until you delete the meeting or close the account, as described in the data protection & retention policy.
- Meetings are private to their owner by default. The owner can explicitly share a retained meeting with their DayMarshal organization.
Disconnect and remove DayMarshal
Disconnect Zoom in DayMarshal
- Sign in to DayMarshal and open Integrations.
- Under Meeting notetaker, select Disconnect Zoom and confirm.
- The Zoom connection is revoked and new Zoom notetakers remain unavailable until you reconnect.
Remove DayMarshal from Zoom
- Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Open Manage, then Added Apps.
- Find DayMarshal, select Remove, and confirm.
Removing or disconnecting the Zoom app prevents future Zoom notetaker use. It does not automatically delete transcripts already retained in your separate DayMarshal account.
Delete retained meeting data
- Open Meetings in DayMarshal.
- Open a meeting and select Delete to remove that meeting, its transcript, and its extracted intelligence.
- To request account closure or deletion of associated data, email privacy@daymarshal.com.
Troubleshooting
Zoom is not connected
Open Integrations and select Connect Zoom. If your Zoom organization requires administrator approval, ask the Zoom administrator to approve DayMarshal before trying again.
The notetaker is waiting
Check the Zoom waiting room and admit DayMarshal Notetaker. Confirm that the meeting is running and is not locked.
Zoom rejected the notetaker
Confirm that Zoom shows as connected in DayMarshal and that the same connected Zoom user is already present in the meeting. Reconnect Zoom if the authorization has expired or was removed. Then confirm that the full meeting URL is valid and try again.
The meeting finished but has no summary
Processing can take several minutes. Refresh the meeting page and review its processing status. If processing failed, use the available retry action or contact support with the meeting title and time.
The link is not accepted
Paste the full Zoom URL, including the zoom.us host and meeting path. Do not paste an invitation paragraph or meeting ID by itself.
Contact support
Visit the support page or email support@daymarshal.com. Never send your Zoom or DayMarshal password, OAuth tokens, or confidential transcript content.
